Majlis of Women promotes leadership among females

DSC_7877

Angham Attia,

AUE, Dubai:

The ICON Consultant representative divided the faculty and students into several groups where students were chosen to be leaders of their own groups. I was chosen to be a leader for my own group. The groups were given tasks of building a facility for kids in the playground area.

In order to prove that I am a successful leader, I used the language of “we”. I worked with my team as part of them and not as a person with higher rank. The objective of this task was to enhance empowerment through self-development.

We all worked together and we used the whiteboard to write down the aspects of our small project and what we need to do in order to accomplish the mission.

The result was amazing. We used the AUE “Nothing is impossible” to name the gradual steps of progress in our little playground game. The group work promoted leadership and team building that helped individual female participants to be active agents in their own groups.
